Summit Parinakhota volcano 6330m - the highest of the Payachata twins

Parinakhota is an inactive strato volcano. From the new refuge at 5160m there are still 1170m altitude left to reach the highest point of the huge crater at the top ! This volcano is usually climbed within one or two days. In march and April the snow conditions are good for skiing. From may to December Parinakhota is a strenuous hike with crampons which takes approximately 6-7 hours depending on previous acclimation to altitude.

 

Normal route:

F, slopes up to 40°

 

technically easy to get to the top,  

physically challenging.

 

Ask for the option to enter the Crater (rappelling, exposed and scary descent)
