The IFMGA is the international federation of mountain guide associations - Worldwide. They represent all mountain guides of their country, which are qualified according to the IFMGA guidelines.
The IFMGA, founded in 1965 by guides from Austria, France, Switzerland and Italy, is currently a body of mountain guide associations from more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania, representing a total of almost 6000 guides
The Bolivian IFMGA mountain guides are all part of the Socorro Andino Boliviano. The only rescue group that is capable of operating rescues in the high Bolivian Andes. We were trained for Helicopter rescue end of 2018. Please visit www.socorroandinoboliviano.org for further information.
